Louisiana (1) : 32 recently weaned crossbred heifers were randomly allocated on the basis of breed and weight between two treatment groups:
- Group 1 received treatment as necessary to prevent clinical disease (Controls)
- Group 2 received IVOMEC 1% Injection at turnout, Day 52, and Day 225
Within each treatment group, heifers were grouped by weight (light or heavy) for grazing.
Average daily gain from Day 0 to Day 163 was significantly (P<0.05) greater for heifers treated with IVOMEC than for Controls. Cattle treated with IVOMEC had lower fecal egg output, pasture larval contamination, and plasma pepsinogen (an indication of infection with brown stomach worm).

Louisiana (2) : 96 recently weaned mixed-breed heifers were randomly allocated on the basis of breed (cross) and body weight between two treatment groups:
- Group 1 was left untreated as the Control group
- Group 2 was treated with IVOMEC 1% Injection on Days 0, 56, and 232
Six replicate pairs of paddocks were formed and heifers grazed the paddocks in groups of eight ( by treatment and weight grouping). Ave rage daily gain from Day 0 to Day 168 was significantly greater for heifers treated with IVOMEC than for untreated Controls (P<0.05). IVOMEC also was effective in reducing fecal egg counts.

Six replicate pairs of paddocks were formed and heifers grazed the paddocks in groups of eight (by treatment and weight grouping).
Average daily gain from Day 0 to Day 182 was significantly better for heifers treated with IVOMEC than for the untreated Controls (P<0.05).

Heifers treated with IVOMEC 1% Injection showed improved reproductive performance.
Kansas: Researchers evaluated the performance of replacement heifers maintained on a marginal plane of nutrition.
- Group 1 was left untreated as the Control group
- Group 2 was treated with a parasite control program using IVOMEC 1% Injection at the time of turnout in the spring, and again at the end of summer grazing
Treatment with IVOMEC significantly decreased faecal egg counts, compared with egg counts in untreated heifers, during the entire study (P<0.01). Heifers treated with IVOMEC had significantly greater weight gain over the entire grazing period (P<0.01), significantly better body condition scores during summer grazing (P<0.01), significant improvements in pelvic area (P<0.05), and a higher percentage of heifers becoming pregnant (P< 0.01).
