Calves treated with IVOMEC 1% Injection produced significant improvements in performance and profitability. |
|
In a study undertaken on four farms located in different states, 232 beef steers, 2.5 to 4 years old, were matched by weight and allocated between two groups:
- Group 1 was treated with a benzimidazole dewormer and a topical external parasite control product (at va rying times according to local practice)
- Group 2 was treated with IVOMEC 1% Injection twice (3 months apart)
The cattle were subjected to the same grazing and management conditions for the approximate 6-month duration of the trial.
Averaged over the four farms, cattle treated twice for parasite control with IVOMEC gained significantly more weight than cattle treated conventionally (P< 0.01).
