Housed Calves Germany

Calves treated with EPRINEX Pour-On showed significantly improved productivity.
Germany

Two 56-day studies involving 30 calves weighing from 136 to 227 kg were used to determine the effect of EPRINEX Pour-On on weight gain in animals infested with the mange mite, Sarcoptes scabiei. Over a 1- to 3-week period, calves in each study were infested once or twice with mites to establish an infestation that produced visible skin lesions. On Day 0, calves were matched by weight and allocated between two groups:

  • Group 1 was treated with EPRINEX on Day 0
  • Group 2 was left untreated as the Control group

In each study, calves treated for S. scabiei with EPRINEX gained significantly more weight than the untreated Controls over the 56-day trial (P<0.05).
